Sounds Different?
Snow[Labs] is a different way to spend a week in the mountains.
A week of shared progression, great coaching and good people. You choose what you want to work on, how much you want to do, and when you want to take a day off.
Everyone's on their own learning curve. Everyone's on the same trip.
Solo or Groups
Most adventure holidays are about the activity. Ours is about the people too. Coming solo? You won't stay that way. Coming with your crew? Add to it.
You might spend the morning in a [Lab], split up for the afternoon, then all meet again for dinner and après. However you spend the day, you're part of the same week. Come for the snow. Leave with the people.
Am I good enough?
There’s no minimum level to join a DoTheThing week. The daily [Labs], however, are designed for people who can confidently get around the mountain. That doesn't mean you need to be an expert. Far from it! And depending on the group that week, that level will be adjusted.
Whether you can do a double backflip or are dreaming of your first 180, Snow[Labs] will meet you where you’re at. In a [Lab], we are all working on the same skill, just at different points on the learning curve.
Small Groups
Every [Lab] has a maximum of 8 people.
Small enough for our coaches to see where you're at. Big enough to share the experience with other people on the same journey.
Your week. Your pace.
Two fresh Snow[Labs] every day. Pick what interests you. Join as many as you like. Skip one if you want. Join every single one if that's your thing.
The [Labs] are optional. There's no pressure to do them all. Your week can be as full or as relaxed as you want it to be.
World-class coaching when you want it. Your holiday when you don't.
I’m a Beginner
Total Beginner? Awesome! You don't have to be at the same point on the learning curve to be on the same trip. Everyone stays in the same hotel. Eats together. Meets the same people. Goes to après together and is part of the same week. We will help organise lessons at the local ski or snowboard school to begin your learning curve.
Needs improvement? No Problem. Many [Labs] may be suitable for less experienced riders and we can help organise lessons with the local ski or snowboard school to get you up to speed.
Getting Here
Airport transfers will pick you up at Innsbruck airport on Saturday 13.00 and drop you off the following Saturday at 11.00. A direct connection off the autobahn makes arrivals and transfers simple. By road it’s 90 minutes from MUC and 40 minutes from INN.
If you’d prefer to take a train, we can help you with that.
Ski or Snowboard
Sideways or forwards, we all love that sliding feeling.
Snow[Labs] is for skiers and snowboarders. Some [Labs] will be discipline-specific; others might bring both together.
Different equipment. Same learning curve.
One Skill, Your Level
Every Snow[Lab] focuses on one fundamental skill—balance, rotation, edge control, air awareness. The skill stays the same. The challenge changes depending on where you are.
Maybe you haven’t hit a jump before. You might be learning your first 180 while someone else is refining a double backflip. A good coach knows how to give both of you something to work on.
What About Apres?!
Go! Snow[Labs] might be about progression, but we're not pretending that's all there is to a good week in the mountains.
We've got one designated après afternoon, but we certainly aren't stopping you the other six days!
[ background ]Why Snow[Labs]
This programme has been developed after years of training the next generation of pro skiers and snowboarders. Malcolm’s alumini include Olympians, current slopestyle and big air wold cup athletes and Junior freeride champions. Here's the part that matters for you: none of that stays locked up for the pros. Our coaching team bring that thinking to your week, whether you're chasing your first clean turn or your first proper spin. He hands it all over. Everything he's learned building riders at the very top, pointed squarely at wherever you are right now.
Even the most advanced riding can be broken down into fundamental skills. Each [Lab] takes a fundamental skill that can be applied to exactly where you are at on the learning curve. Wether you are starting to experiment with catching air or are confidently doing double backflips, there is a aspect within that fundamental that will challenge you. Thats the eye of a good coach. You will come back bolder on your board.
We here at DoTheThing, love challenges. We love to push ourselves and experience those endorphins. But not always. Thats why we’ve insisted on optionality during our Snow[Lab] weeks. Stress isn’t optimal for learning. By simply removing any expectation, you enter the [Lab] primed for success. And if that doesn't sound like you, then we have an easy solution; sign up to everything no matter what!

Your Head Coach
■
Malcolm McLean
Our Head Coach Malcolm has a decade of experience coaching young athletes to the top of their game.
He's coached national teams and nurtured individual athletes from more countries than most people ride in a lifetime.
Unlike many, he hasn’t been restricted to one discipline. HIs eye and thirst for knowledge means he has built performance pathways for both freestyle skiers and snowboarders. And the results speak for themselves. Youth Olympic gold, junior freeride world champions in both ski and snowboard. Malcolm’s alumni include multiple World Cup and Olympic athletes.
Here's the part that matters for you: none of that stays locked up for the pros. Malcolm brings that thinking to your week, whether you're chasing your first clean turn or your first proper spin. He hands it all over. Everything he's learned building riders at the very top, pointed squarely at wherever you are right now.
Off the snow, he's an aspiring surfer, mountain biker and pianist, three things he's cheerfully, determinedly still not very good at, which tells you everything about how he thinks about learning.
A reformed smartphone user. He has put the phone down, and now he does the thing.

Item descriptionThat's completely normal.
Snow[Labs] are built around people being at different points on their learning curve. You might be working towards your first jump while someone else is refining something much bigger. A good coach finds the next challenge for both.
The only thing we ask is that you're happy sharing the experience with people who are learning at a different pace to you.Cheer for someone's first turn. Celebrate their first jump. Then go work on your double backflip.
-
Of course. Sole occupancy is available for an additional cost.
Prefer to share? You can request to stay with a friend when you book, and we'll do everything we can to make it happen.
Coming on your own? That's completely normal. We'll match you with an appropriate guest and help you settle in. After all, the whole point is to bring good people together.
